My Frankenstein chair

For the longest time the elevation control on my desk chair has not been working. I could set it up to the highest level and in a couple of hours it would be all the way down.

Not willing to buy a new chair, because other than the elevation I really like my chair, a friend at work suggested putting a bolt in the chair. So after an hour with a high power drill I got my Frankenstein chair.

There were some complications though: the first is that the chair won't swivel now. That one I kicked myself for not realizing but I would have done it anyway as I can still use the chair wheels to turn around - just with a little more effort. The other side effect is that the chair has absolutely no give anymore, with the pneumatics gone and a bolt blocking the chair when I sit down instead of a nice soft sinking feel I get a hard stop. I should have realized this one too but I am not kicking myself on it.
